I’ve built two multi six-figure lash salons over the last eight years and trained complete beginners to step into the lash and brow industry with confidence.
But it didn’t start like that.
I still remember sitting in my living room late at night, the kids in bed, after fitting in clients where I could… and thinking, is this ever actually going to work?
I had no idea what I was doing. No business background, no real guidance, no childcare… just trying to figure it out as I went. I was basically winging it.
There were so many moments I doubted myself, times I stopped and started because I genuinely thought maybe this just wasn’t for me.
But I knew I wanted more. Not just more income… something that was mine. Something that made me feel like me again, not just “mum”.
And I got to a point where I couldn’t keep doing it the way I was. I was either going to keep going in circles… or actually change something.
I was scared, but I decided to start investing in myself.
Not just in learning lashes, but in learning how to build a business, how to get clients, how to grow, and how to lead.
Over the years, I’ve invested thousands of pounds into coaching, training all over the world with respected lash artists, and personal development… putting myself in rooms that felt way outside my comfort zone. But I did it anyway.
And that’s where things started to change for me.
Not overnight, but in how I showed up. I stopped second guessing everything, I made decisions quicker, but more importantly I took action, even when I wasn’t fully sure.
And that’s what changed not just my business but my life.
It wasn’t that I suddenly knew everything… I just stopped holding myself back and started believing in myself.
From there, things started to grow.
I went from trying to fit work around my life… to building something that actually gives me choice.
Now I have two established salons, an amazing team of 10, and I’ve stepped fully into a leadership role.
But more than anything, it’s the person I’ve become through it.
I trust myself now. I don’t sit waiting until I feel ready or have it all figured out… I make decisions and move.
And I know how to handle things when they don’t go to plan, because they don’t always.
That’s the difference, and that naturally comes into everything I do, how I lead my team, how I teach, and the standard I hold.
Because I remember exactly what it felt like at the start, sitting there thinking I didn’t have a clue what I was doing and wondering if it was ever going to work.
And if I’m honest… the only real difference between then and now is that I didn’t stop.
I kept showing up, even when we didn’t have clients in and the diaries were quiet, even when we were forced to close during a worldwide pandemic, I kept investing in myself, even when it scared me and money wasn’t coming in quick enough and I kept going, even when I doubted myself and questioned if it was worth it and if I was capable.
I just didn’t quit… and I figured it out along the way.
